Entry: Home Sweet Home! - Part 2 Saturday, March 28, 2009

Finally I'm updating the remaining part of my CNY at home. *phew, wipes sweat* I don't think people really bother about it but who cares. :P

My CNY started rather slowly.. Like other years, I was the one putting money into those red packets for my mum cause I'm, apparently the free-iest person in the house.

I asked for british pounds for angpau this year, but dear daddy gave me cheque instead. No point bringing the cheque over here and convert it so in the end it still goes to my account in Malaysia.

Sigh. Didn't get to smell money in the packet this time round.

...and also, the packet's so so thin. It used to be a full packet of RM50 notes.

*********

As usual, the darlings came over at night for our AGM (annual gossip meeting) And like every other years, we'll surely miss someone in the meeting.

This year, 2 missing T_T

One in the UK, the other one in Johor.

That's the stairs in front of my house. I love my house *emo

More photos of the darlings.

If this is a beauty pageant photo, I'm sure I'll get the last. T__T Look at those fat and flabby arms my gosh!! Why is my photoshop program not working tell me why!!

******

Fast forward to the 3rd day of CNY.

The Arifans all decided to gather in Chen Yi's house for a change. (and her mum makes good cookies, too!)

I was pretty late for the gathering. My excuse being... having terrible jet lag which lasted for the whole of 3 weeks I was home. :P

A groupie before Yee Mang went back.

Couple picture. :P Ironically it was Chen Yi's dad who called them to sit on those two rotan chairs and pose to the camera. hahaha.

Then Yoga Gan decided to be braver and showed his affection in front of all. :P

Hui Yi and Eunice came over slightly later, so we took another picture together. Look at my legs! *shakes head* really mou-tak-gao la me... So chubby still refuse to do anything about it.

Another group picture.

*******

Went out to Jusco to meet some other Arifans. I thought there were just a few of them there so I just cincai wear and go.

Turned out to be a huge group of them crowding the already crowded shopping mall.

Yoga trying to get closer to Siew Yeng but Kang Soon (a.k.a PPS) got jealous.

Scandal! Caught ya! Sigh. I knew Yoga has been going after my darling Yeng for some time d...finally now got evidence. :P

and if you're wonder why am I calling my friend Yoga, he actually said that himself. He said he looked like Yoga Lim -- the Taiwanese Singer.

Ok-la, there're in fact, some similarity in them. And btw, when I was searching for Yoga Lim's photo, it led me to his friendster account. This Taiwanese Singer has his freaking own friendster account and is open to public. *open eyes big big*

More pretties and no leng jai. (handsome guys)

We were then shoo-ed away by the shop owner for being kiamsiap (stingy) cause we all just ordered drinks and occupied the longest table in the shop. So we proceeded to Ker Li's house.

And Darling Yeng being herself... upon arrival, she screamed so loudly in KerLi's house, as if no one was home. I could see KL's face expressionless and then told us, "erm, my mum's in the study room"

Then Yeng was like, "Oh? OH NO! Why didn't you tell me earlier! I thought no one was home!!"

...and I was there thinking, "Haih. Some things never changes."

Please take note at Yoga Gan's hand in this photo.

Poor Ngiow-Ngiow got pushed by Siang Feng a.k.a. Yoga's hand. Initially he was aiming for Yeng's head but his hand was too short so poor Sin Yee was pushed instead. Look at his hamsap smile. *geli*

Pretty ladies at the supposedly bar counter of the house. Look ma, I'm glowing!! I think I'm turning into a vampire soon. *dreams*

Since we got together once in God-know-how-many-months, we decided to go lou sang (捞生)

Then we realised that all Chinese Restaurants will be packed with people, and us being us, we didn't have enough money to pay for chinese food. (or so we claimed) So we ended up in a mamak stall, bringing in our very own yee sang.

Whose brilliant idea was that?

...yours truly *shy*

Yoga pouring the syrup into the yee sang before we start. We couldn't find any chopsticks in the shop *duh*, so we decided to use our fingers as chopsticks instead. :P

The Yee Sang deserves a picture of its own too!

After 'lou-ing' for prosperity, good health, youthful, happiness... everyone decided to have 'eating pose' pictures of themselves.

...and the one above was obviously spoilt by Kang Soon, or more well known as PPS.

Please ignore my expression. But as you can see, I'm glowing again. I swear it wasn't the flash in my camera! I was just...glowing :P

I hope Victoria or the Volturi won't hunt me down. *shivers*

(sorry, too much of Twilight Saga)

Lets continue...

The couple. :) Jovy's 'eating pose' needs more practise leh...

It was that night, where I realised Kang Soon's sexual orientation. Sissy sial... *gelis*

Another glowing picture. We were obviously the spotlight of the shop cause we brought our own food (and was charged an extra ringgit for it) and also, who on earth will snap photos in a freaking MAMAK stall??

Then we called an English-speaking Ah Neh (brother, in Tamil) to snap our final group picture of the day.

...I guess, it'll be quite some time before everyone gets together again.

Times like these made me missed school days so much. :(

************

It was Wilayah Day, Mr. Busy-all-the-time decided to bring me to Malacca to satisfy my craving for Gula Melaka. (the most God-like sugar in the world!! :P)

 Us, while driving.

Now, kids, please do not snap pictures when the driver's driving, ya... unless you're really skillful like how I am. :P

And thats me attempting to take a nice picture with the aid of the bright sunlight.

After an hour's drive (or so) we finally reached Malacca!! The town of fattening Gula Melaka!!!

Beautiful tanglungs at Jonker Street. I <3 tanglungs. They're pretty. :)

World Heritage City!!! and it was only declared as one last year. :) Penang's the other Heritage City in Malaysia I think.

As you can see, the sun was really really really hot. So hot that I would need the umbrella even when I was walking along the corridor.

and if you're wondering, the reason why I didn't open my umbrella was because the corridor was too narrow for my brolly.

Fountain of Youth. I think it was built by the Dutch? Or Portuguese? Should be Dutch cause the surrounding buildings were by them.

Please forgive my ignorance...I didn't score well for my history last time. *shy*

Us again!! With the shades my mum forced me to wear. Fake Gucci. =.="

That's me again, overlooking A Famosa on the hill.Ok, more like I was asked to pose that way actually.

 and one for himself too.

Seriously, the sun was so hot that my brain started to go cuckoo.

At some point in time, I started to sing Captain Planet's song aloud. I couldn't remember how the conversation get there but I think it was something about saving the earth from Global Warming.

So I proudly sang my favourite cartoon's song. So loud that Mr. Cheah decided to leave me at the opposite side of the street so as not to embarrass himself.

 See!! :(

And here's a Free Malaccan Model posing beside the polluted Malaccan River as an advertisement to urge the people not to further pollute the river.

I swear that's not my normal self. It's the weather I tell you, it's the weather.

 Malaccan River.

Then Mr. Cheah decided to bring me for a treat of cendol as my much overdue dosage of medicine to keep me sane in the extremely melting hot weather. (OK, I don't think this sentence makes sense but I'm not going to edit it cause I don't know how to)

...lets proceed...

CENDOL!!! Not the best, but at least cool down my temperature a lil, and keep me much more sane after that.

Chicken Rice Balls!! How would a Melaka trip be complete without having those Chicken Rice Balls??

I know I've missed out lotsa other nice food around, but then, at least my cravings for gula melaka was satisfied. And that's what that makes a happy Joyce. :)

Stopped by to meet up with Li Wen and Will before we made our journey back home.

and lookie here, lonely eye on malaysia overlooking the Straits of Melaka.

and that ends our Malacca trip...

**********

The rest of the days I was just busy getting more stuff to pack into my bag, eating more food, emoing, enjoy staying on my bed as much as I could, packing more food into my bag until it's overweight, and if its impossible to bring back those food, I'd stuff them into my mouth...

and this time round, the farewell was fairly short.

My mum was over excited to meet her high school friend who was there in the airport to send her niece off. So excited that she'd totally forgotten about me. T_T She was really busy chatting with her friends at one corner while I was just standing at the other corner.

My dad was, as usual, shoo-ing me away as soon as possible. He was ALWAYS running out of time, ALWAYS in a rush to go to the temple that he has to shoo me away ASAP so that he can leave the airport. (and also not to pay the sky-high parking fee)

...and my brother, was trying to squeeze me thinner by pushing me to the side of a escalator (I dunno for what reason really) Maybe he secretly thinks I'm too fat.

**********

The journey back this time felt different, very different...

This time round, I can't say "See you in few months' time" cause I don't know when will I be home again. T______T

Sigh.

Life goes on, life still goes on...:)
