This year's birthday was rather quiet. (as opposed to 20+ people celebrating together with me T_T) I miss TCC...T__T

Strange to say, I quite like the quiet ambience usually but I sorta miss the noise of TCC-ians. (yes you know who you are T_T)

So I tried to gather a small number of people here to make myself less emo, so that I can celebrate my birthday - well, in a way la...cause it was just a normal dinner *shy*

We dined at Jamie Oliver's restaurant. One of the three restaurants in the entire UK. :) (cause I was sorta craving for Italian food)

and the dinner went quite boring after some time.. I think we have some generation gap and communication problem.

See, Marta only speaks English and Canton, whereas the rest speaks 90% Mandarin and 10% of English. So I was talking to Marta most of the time, whereas the rest were talking among themselves. :(

So I came out with this idea to try to make them to take more pictures.

The service in the restaurant was super slow...like we ask for the bill also take about 20 minutes. :(

So we ended up doing this.


We slowly strolled back to our respective homes after that...and not to forget my favourite Abbey church.

Can you believe that this is one of the motivations of me finishing my PhD?? I think convocation in this big ancient historical roman cathedral is going to be really memorable. :) and the interior is so pretty can...with those pipe organs and those nice nice ceiling. (I've not been into the church, just peeped from the window - kiamsiap dowan to pay to enter)

Last weekend, I tagged Marta along with me to follow one of BAMSA's outings - Swindon Factory Outlet shopping trip!! :P

Some time in the week, I happened to stumbled across on the noticeboard that we have free coffee for the day. - so you certainly know what happened next, yah?

Even a non-coffee drinker like me will get my ass off the office chair and check the campus map to redeem my free cup of coffee. Starbucks summore :P

Uni has started for 2 months by now, and I am still taking my own sweet pace when it comes to work.

Yes I know, I'm super lazy. When people are already considering of publishing papers, here I am still lazing around playing word challenge on facebook.

Never-the-less, I did manage to run some experiments, even though the results are not so good.

You know-la, I cincai do experiments thats why results no good.

and everytime when my supervisor asked me have I tried method B, method C, I'll go on answering him, "Hmm, I've not, but I really don't think its going to work"

Damn bad right, haven't try then say cannot work already.

and when he asks me to find some journals on some recipes, I'll just simply google it and say I cannot find..

THEN, I'll take the entire week doing the same thing until I manage to find something by the end of the week. So HOLA! One week gone! *puff*

If EPSRC ever finds out that they're funding some lazy ass like me, they'll probably fire me. So I'd better show them here, that I DID do something *shows proud face* even though any other primary school kid can also do that la

I purposely put some buffer solutions lying around to beautify the place one lo... Damn sad one here everything also look so uncolourful, and I am so not 'chemistry', cannot make colourful compounds, so terpaksa rely on buffer solutions to beautify the lab.

Bangga sial..I sticked those glass pieces together by myself and it doesn't leak!!! *proud* and summore because of that I get to know that at the corner of our department there's this small little glassblower work room. Kinda reminds me of Hagrid's hut (in Harry Potter's series) - cause it's really by itself at the corner one.


My supervisor so nice he gives presents. =.=" One fine day he just came, "I have a present for you!!" Then I was happy for that one mili-second, then only to realise that it was just a pH meter. :( I think he's trying to hint me to do more work.

But then, I'm quite happy with the pH meter, cause I can tell people that's MY pH meter. :P

Ok enough about my work..lets proceed to some other things.

2 days before I turned 22, Su Yin and Kenny decided to pay me a visit. (yes it was just mere coincidence...they didn't know my birthday was up till the very morning itself)

The next day, I thought of buying myself a birthday top, so I went shopping lo...takkan Birthday dinner no nice top to wear, right?


This is one of those I quite liked, but I didn't buy it in the end. cause not sexy enough
